Cancer Survivor Beauty and Support Day™, (CSBSD), June 5, is intended to make all cancer survivors feel more supported and appreciated by providing free beauty and hair services at participating locations. Recognized in the US House of Representatives since 2009 and cited by many state and local governments, CSBSD is now an annual event held the first Tuesday in June and celebrated in all fifty states. Other nationwide programs that help boost the appearance of others with cancer include: Look Good Feel Better, EBeauty and Sephora Brave Beauty.
With the incredible support of Great Clips (Clips of Kindness® ) and beauty schools, plus a growing number of participating salons, spas, beauty shops, barber shops, and massage salons, Cancer Survivor Beauty and Support Day™ has made life a bit more beautiful and enjoyable for cancer survivors and a lot more fulfilling for those who volunteer.
A national list of CSBSD participants can be found at http://ow.ly/LprSR. If a salon or spa in a patient’s geographical area is on the list, patients should call the business, inquire about their complimentary services for CSBSD and book an appointment. If there is no participating salon nearby, cancer survivors are encouraged to contact Barbara Natof Paget, Chairwoman at [email protected] with the names and telephone numbers of several establishments closest to them so they can be contacted and, hopefully, added to CSBSD’s participation list.
