In March, the Girl Scouts Spirit of Nebraska Council hosts “Scouting for the Cure” events in five locations throughout Nebraska: Grand Island, Columbus, Alliance, Lincoln and Omaha. The events help educate girls and their family members about healthy lifestyles and breast cancer. In the past, girls have sewn pillows for breast cancer patients, created chemo care kits, participated in awareness banner decorating contests, took part in event activities, and honored survivors. Events admission is $8 for girls and $7 for adults.
Scouting for the Cure organizers continue to seek partners from the breast cancer community to help expand and promote these events. They are also looking for guest speakers, survivors and sponsor organizations. Guest speakers and community partners who participate will receive free admission and t-shirt!
The next Scouting for the Cure event is scheduled for March 10, 2018 from 1-4:00pm so mark your calendar! In the meantime, if you would like to volunteer or would like more information about this fabulous program, please contact Renae Ninneman at 402-875-4348 or [email protected].
