Bright Pink is a national non-profit organization focusing on the risk reduction and early detection of breast and ovarian cancer in young women while providing support for high-risk individuals.
“Brighten Up” educational sessions are 25 minute presentations about breast and ovarian health. Presentations focus on introducing Bright Pink, learning about breast and ovarian health basics (recognizing symptoms to act on, practicing early detection, reducing risk), then taking the steps to act.
They also recently launched a digital e-learning platform that bridges the knowledge gap and provide a practical, evidence-based approach to identifying patients at all risk levels. Their interactive and innovative approach to continuing medical education will better prepare providers to identify risk, participate in shared decision-making, and create risk management plans to prevent these diseases.
The organization currently sponsors Bright Pink Outreach Support Groups for women at high risk for breast and ovarian cancer, those currently battling or survivors of those cancers. Check out their Communities/Omaha page for Outreach Group dates and/or times or contact Denise Ibsen Cole, Bright Pink Education Ambassador for Nebraska, at [email protected] for more information.
