Transportation to Screening

The Methodist Estabrook Cancer Center is offering free transportation within a 20-mile radius of the Center’s 84th Street Omaha campus for individuals who need screening mammograms, active cancer treatment or follow-up visits with their physician. Thanks to a grant from Susan G. Komen® Great Plains  the Sarpy/Cass Health Department now provides transportation assistance for women to access breast screening services in Sarpy and Cass Counties. The SCHD is increasing the reach, enrollment, and access to the Every Woman Matters program by partnering with the Eastern Nebraska Office of Aging Rural Transportation.  The Eastern Nebraska Office of Aging Rural Transportation will work with SCHD to provide transportation vouchers to and from screening appointments for women enrolled in the EWM program and for other women with significant cost barriers to accessing breast cancer screening. For more information, email Gbadero Yerokun-Houessou or call 402.537.6968.

As another Susan G. Komen® Great Plains  grant recipient in the amount of $17,765, the Perkins County Health Services Foundation: Pay It Forward Project – will provide breast health education, select diagnostic and treatment support services, AND transportation assistance to eligible women in Lincoln, Perkins, Chase and Keith counties in Nebraska.
