Bosom Buddies Hope Chest

The Bosom Buddies Hope Chest program is a resource for breast cancer survivors who have undergone a  lumpectomy, mastectomy, or bilateral mastectomy and are in need of mastectomy supplies.

The program is a reincarnation of the American Cancer Society’s prosthesis program, which provided bras and prostheses to breast cancer survivors in Lincoln from 1998 to 2012. As the program grew it was moved to the Center for People in Need as the B-Power Program until the Lincoln Breast Cancer Alliance formed a unique partnership with omt! divine resale, an upscale consignment shop at 1725 Van Dorn, to provide the service. The store is open weekends and some evenings to help accommodate the needs of all women.

When women call the service they will speak to a breast cancer survivor who will determine their needs and schedule a fitting for a convenient time in a private dressing room within the store.  The personalized fitting is provided by a trained health professional. There are no age, income or other requirements to be served through the program.
